She has a background in public policy, quality management and general management. She has worked for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, the Royal National Institute for the Blind, and as Acting Chief Executive of the Institute of Charity Fundraising Managers. Her responsibilities included active work on the Disability Discrimination Act including developing consultancy services to organisations on meeting their responsibilities under the Act. She has acted as an assessor for the British Quality Foundation's National Quality Awards. She has spent time working in the US Congress and in the UK Parliament at Westminster.

Ros has a degree in Politics and Parliamentary Studies and an MBA from the London Business School.
